Came here on an unseasonably hot Sunday lunchtime for a snack - upon recommendation from the Lowestoft RNLI lifeboat crew.

Flying Fifteens has a garden that overlooks the beach, great for dog walkers. The waitresses come and serve you here.

A word of warning - chips are not welcome here. The food is locally sourced (smoked salmon, honey roast Norfolk ham and, on Saturdays, fresh Cromer crab).

The menu consists of a choice of sandwiches, soup, omelettes, salads. Also there is a robust selection of cakes.

There is also a bewildering list of teas you can try - from the usual to the obscure.

I would recommend the bacon baguette - it is a relatively simple thing to prepare, but you really notice one that has been cooked to perfection.

Also of note is the excellent service - the waitress even brought Charlie the labrador a bowl of water without being asked.

    All in all, highly recommended.

BTW - 'Flying Fifteens' refers to a sailing boat designed by Uffa Fox. Fifteen indicates its length of fifteen feet.
